The state and problems of Muslim education in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic

The article discusses religious situation in Kabardino-Balkaria and the process of formation and development of Islamic education in 1990-s - 2000-s. The authors show how the Islamic education system was developing in three levels: Mosque elementary schools, madrasahs, and Islamic university. The authors study the peculiarities of the Muslim education and some problems of educational institutions' financing, structure and qualification of teaching personnel, and the level of graduates' competence. The main ways to solve the problems in the system of Islamic education in Kabardino-Balkaria are considered. The authors discuss the role of state authorities in development of Islamic education and its support by Spiritual Management of Muslims of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic.
