The state and problems of modern paternity

Based on the results of sociological research, the state of the modern family in general, and paternity in particular, is examined. The main directions of foreign and domestic sociology, studying the role and functions of the father in the family are covered. The main types of paternity are considered. It is established that the responsible type of paternity is the most common in modern Russian families. A relationship between the type of paternity and the main socio-demographic characteristics of men has been revealed. It is established that to a greater extent men perform a disciplinary function, as well as a function of moral and intellectual upbringing of the child. It is concluded that the family for men is one of the basic values, and the type of paternity is a dynamic phenomenon that can be corrected, including by the state and society.
