Liver cirrhosis is the final stage of chronic liver disease and is accompanied by the irreversible replacement of liver parenchyma with fibrous tissue and regenerative nodules. The most common causes of liver cirrhosis include viral infections such as hepatitis B and C, alcohol-associated liver disease and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and the development of liver cirrhosis with impaired portal circulation is also observed [1]. Portal hypertension occurs, which triggers a chain of autonomic, neurohumoral and metabolic changes. Subsequently, organ plethora and multiple organ extrahepatic disorders develop. Liver cirrhosis often leads to myocardial changes, such as left ventricular enlargement with diastolic dysfunction and systolic failure during exercise [3]. Frequent and severe complications include hepatic encephalopathy, which has a strong impact on the psychological state of the patient [2].
