The state of the livestock industry in Russia

The article presents an analysis of the dynamics of the livestock industry of the Russian economy. The directions of development of the main segments of the industry are studied. Data on the leading regions of the country are presented. The main livestock of birds is in agricultural organizations. In 2020, their share in the total volume is 83%. The decline in the poultry industry is due to the oversaturation of the domestic market and the need for export sales. In pig and poultry farming, the largest number is in agricultural organizations - 45% of the total volume at the end of 2020. In cattle breeding in the country, the Republic of Tatarstan is the leader - 5.4% of the total volume, Dagestan - 5.3% and Bashkortostan - 5.1%.
