Improving quality management practices

Each quality management method without appropriate adaptation to a specific production situation may be ineffective. This is due to the fact that the general theory (approaches) of methods is based on the well-known generalized practice of their application. However, it is not possible to develop a model or method of applying a method suitable for everyone. Thus, each method must be adapted to the specific production conditions before use. For example, a simple method such as a checklist can be completely ineffective if it is not compiled correctly. In fact, the level of adaptation is associated with the possibilities of applying the quality management method; the wider the scope, the higher the level of adaptation. It should also be noted that the high adaptability of the method makes it difficult to interpret the results of its application. To understand the importance of adaptation issues in all areas of life, one can use the theory of adaptation of Hans Selye. He introduced the concept of “adaptation energy” as a factor in the viability of an organism. Based on this, it can be argued that, as soon as the quality management method ceases to change in accordance with the requirements of new technological processes and in accordance with the new goals and objectives set by consumers or management, the quality management method ceases to be in demand.
