Improvement of approaches to the assessment of the level of circular economy of the region's industry in accordance with the goals of sustainable development

The relevance of the study of methodological approaches to assess the level of sustainable development and circular economy is due to the current aggravation of the geopolitical situation and the turbulence of the economic system. The goals of sustainable development of the United Nations are aimed at solving current challenges and achieving the welfare, security and well-being of human society in the environment. In this connection, the task of assessing the level of sustainable development, the solution of which is proposed in many Russian and foreign publications, becomes particularly important. At the same time, the issue of assessing the achievement of goals aimed at improving the environmental situation and stimulating measures of climate regulation is insufficiently studied. In this sense, a tool for solving the above problems is a circular economy, which is an economic system of processing and restoration of natural resources and materials at the stages of their production, exchange and distribution. To evaluate the circular economy, methods are also found in the scientific literature for assessing its state, but the composition of the proposed indicators for the region’s industry is the subject of debate in contemporary works. In this connection, this article aims at reviewing the consistency of methodological approaches, for assessing the level of sustainable development and circular economy. As a result of the conducted research the author offers directions for improvement of methodological approaches for evaluation of circular economy of regional industry.
