In the context of reforming the system of the interior Ministry of Russia, the adoption of the Federal law "on police", of particular importance is the improvement of personnel policy in the internal Affairs bodies. The article considers one of the main ways of improvement of personnel policy in the police Department, consisting in the improvement of the procedure of creation of the personnel reserve and assign reservists to positions of senior management. The article deals with organizational methods, principles of selection of candidates, stages of the procedure for the formation of the reserve of personnel, tasks to be solved in the formation of a list of possible reservists, the main forms and directions of training, which are included in the reserve of personnel.
