Improving outdoor processes of drying seeds saturated with water and application on them waterproof coating

A great influence on the decrease in the yield of grain crops at the present time of a sharp climate change with a dry autumn during the sowing of winter crops is shown. Due to insufficient soil moisture, the widespread technology of sowing seeds of cereals, their pre-sowing preparation, mainly by wet dressing, is accompanied by a long delay in germination and subsequent growth and development of plants by winter. This is the main reason for the decrease in the productivity of winter crops, and often the death of more than 10% of crops that are resown in the spring. The possibility of eliminating the shortcomings that have arisen by improving the existing technology of pre-sowing preparation of seeds, which is based on their saturation with water in the process of moistening, is taken as the main operation. At the same time, the moisture absorbed into the seed is quite enough to start the metabolic processes in the seed for the development of the embryo and the emergence of an emerging plant. However, additional operations are needed to protect the water that has entered the seed from being lost by soaking it into dry soil immediately after sowing. These operations include external drying of water-saturated seeds and sub-sequent application of a protective coating on them. The article shows the possibility of organizing external drying of seeds in a stream of warm air supplied to the undersieve space of the installation proposed by us with the provision of conditions that exclude the death of the embryo from overheating. The application of a protective coating on the surface of seeds in the form of a microfilm of a low-melting material (for example, paraffin or wax) is proposed to be carried out by spraying its melt onto the seed stream at the exit from the sieve of the specified installation.
