Improving the system of ensuring the safety of cargo transportation by rail (criminological aspect)

Introduction: in the present article analyzes the state and dynamics of thefts of goods committed at the objects of freight railway transport of the East Siberian Railway. Some features of the commission of thefts of goods from rolling stock are considered, which allow to correctly determine the areas of activity of the internal affairs bodies in transport in the prevention of these crimes. Materials and methods: the regulatory framework of the study is formed by the criminal legislation of the Russian Federation. The methodological basis of the research is the dialectical approach, as well as the systematic method of cognition of criminological patterns, In the context of the dialectical method and in connection with it, other general scientific methods (analysis, synthesis, deduction, logical, formal-legal, etc.) were also used in the course of the study. The results of the study: allowed us to identify the actual criminal and criminological problems of crime prevention at the objects of freight railway transport of the East Siberian Railway in modern social conditions. Findings and Conclusions: the reasons and conditions that contribute to the theft of goods from rolling stock are determined, some problems of preventing crimes in this area are considered, the main preventive measures are formulated, proposals are made to improve measures aimed at preventing the theft of goods at railway transport facilities.
