Improvement to the curriculum of social studies at the contemporary (secondary) school in Ukraine based on a review of progress in learning techniques of the XX century

The paper explored some approaches to improve the curriculum of the social studies in the contemporary high school in Ukraine with a review of progress in learning techniques back in the XX century. The author''s approach to compiling a curriculum of the social studies in the contemporary high school. The paper suggested a curriculum for teaching the social studies to shape the following directions: a human being in self-actualization of his / her core nature; in interacting with people and natural environment; in occupation duties and in public activity.
