Improving the technology of bending curved sides of aircraft parts

The material presented in the article is devoted to analytical modeling of the process of forming curvilinear sides with the imposition of constrained bending with an elastic tool. The constrained bend allows to obtain much smaller bending radii than with conventional punching, thickening of the walls of parts, which increases the rigidity of products, strength, and also minimizes mass, which is especially important for aviation and rocket and space technology. On the basis of the classical equations of the theory of metal processing by pressure, relationships between stresses, strains, elastomer pressure, part geometry, and mechanical characteristics of the part material are obtained. The dependences obtained provide an opportunity to develop methods of designing technological processes, namely, calculating the size of the blanks, the necessary power parameters. It is also possible to predict the magnitude of the change in wall thickness of the parts produced.
