Improvement by zemstvos of the medical service of the population in the Urals (1900-1918)

This article reveals the main trends in the activities of the Urals Zemstvo in Medical Service. New hospitals and medical assistant stations were built in the country. Zemstvos hired doctors and organized midwife training courses, struggled agains infectious illnesses the article characterizes the difficulties and special features of the sanitary work and organizing activities in the field of medicine.
