In March 1921 when Soviet Russia had just won in a bloody battle with internal and external enemies and revolutionary Turkey was fighting for its national independence against powerful military bloc of imperialists (the Triple Entente), one of the most momentous events in the history of Soviet-Turkish relations happened, it was the signing of “The Treaty of Friendship and Fraternity between the RSFSR and Turkey". This Treaty was one of the earliest documents of this kind in both nations'' life. The history of its conclusion is revealed in this article.
