The article deals with the Soviet experience of interethnic interaction in 1970-1980 by case study of the Northern districts of Yakutia. Based on different sources, the author considers ethno-social processes in the society. Besides, it is shown how the national policy was implemented in certain districts during that period. The paper distinguishes the stages of industrialization of Yakutia Northern districts taking into account intensity of ethnic contacts.
