Soviet poster in the Bolsheviks’ propaganda system: images of the future (1917-1941)

The article studies the effectiveness of the poster as a tool of Soviet propaganda. It analyzes and explains the reasons of poster’s effectiveness as a means of propaganda in the 1917-1941. Particular attention is paid to the purposeful propaganda activities of the authorities aimed at development of future-minded public consciousness of Soviet citizens. The research deals with the posters’ themes, specifying the "bright future" through a variety of images. This aspect is complemented by the consideration of posters on the social problems of the time.
