Soviet-Chinese border talks 1964-2004

The purpose of the article was to consider the process of Soviet-Chinese border negotiations and the importance for the normalization of Soviet-Chinese relations. The main method of research is the comparison of contracts and analysis of proactive documents. The article shows that the solution of the border issue was one of the most significant successes of diplomacy. It is concluded that the border settlement facilitates the agreement on the reduction of the armed forces and the strengthening of confidence in the border area, which in turn created a favorable atmosphere for the development of international cooperation.
