The study of the strategic cultures of the countries of the world is an important research part of political science. Foreign policy behavior of a state, formed by national strategic culture, allows predicting the development of the main trends in the system of international relations, which are often difficult to achieve by using exclusively mathematical and sociological methods. The American strategic culture has been formed since the founding of the United States of America in 1776, being one of the youngest strategic cultures. The national strategic culture of the United States determines the current course of American foreign policy and the existence of the country as a whole. Summing up, we can formulate a general ideal picture of the world according to the self-positioning of the USA in their strategic culture. It includes global influence, exclusivity and messianic role in the global political process, dominance and projection of its political and ideological worldview in order to ensure the well-being of the country; an approach to the world from a position of confidence and strength. The practical implementation of American strategic culture, reflected in the National Security Strategy, consists in the messianic role of the United States on the world stage, the priority of spreading democracy in all countries of the world, the creation of an American-controlled world order, the widespread involvement of the United States in regional political processes, the diversification of national interests and foreign policy priorities, the possibility of using military force if necessary to maintain the «global mission» of the United States.
