Modern anti-drug outdoor advertising (case study of Murmansk)

The article analyses the prevalence of drug addiction among the population on the basis of the data of statistics and annual monitoring of the drug situation in the Murmansk Oblast. The author substantiates the importance of the use of outdoor social advertising as a means of anti-drug prevention. The article presents the results of studying the existing urban outdoor anti-drugadvertisements with the use of the method of document analysis. The article reveals the modern state and specific features of the outdoor social advertising in the city, its main focus on the persons suffering from drug abuse, and their relatives. The author points out potential resources for the use of outdoor social advertising in order to prevent psychoactive substance abuse.
