In the article the problems arising in practical activity connected with the order of appointment and production of examinations at the stage of criminal case initiation, caused by changes introduced by Federal Law No. 23-FZ of March 4, 2013, are considered. Some aspects of forensic activity at the stage of preliminary investigation are touched upon, practice of appointment and production of examinations and preliminary studies are analyzed.
