Contemporary art of the church: from aesthetic anti-mission to the ecology of the image

The features of the existence of Christian art in the context of modern secular culture are considered. The main directions of distortion of the concept of image and symbol are indicated. Two plans for the consideration of this problem have been identified: intra-church and general cultural. It is proposed to consider the general direction for preserving the concept of the image as the ecology of the icon.
