Primagadan shelf is a part of north Okhotsk sea shelf, ranging between 146°Е and 156°Е. It concerns to number of the most perspective for the beginning works on hydrocarbonic resources development in the nearest years. Modern ecological condition of its water area satisfactory. Oil contaminations arise incidentally and locally. They have technogenic origin. Searches, investigation and an oil and gas extraction on shelf create real threat of pollution the water area and litoral of sea coast by mineral oil. For the prevention of this pollution natural sorbents can be used, it is easier and heavier than water. The choice of type of a sorbent is determined by character of protected coast. On north Okhotsk sea coast resources of raw material for manufacturing sorbents (moss slightly decomposite peat, bentonites, zeolites, diatomites) are revealed. Natural protection against oil contamination in a cold season is the shore ice and drifting ice fields, in a warm season - along coast sea currents of sublatitude orientation. It is made a conclusion, that on the land and water areas of Primagadan shelf are necessary conditions for the prevention and liquidation the probable emergency oil floods with mini-mal negative ecological implications.
