Modern distribution of ponds in the Menzelya river basin

The object of this study is the Menzel River basin, located in the center of the physico-geographical region of the Eastern Zakamye within the boundaries of five municipal districts of the Republic of Tatarstan. With the help of decryption of satellite images of the Google Earth Pro program in 2023-2024, the Database on the structure of the river network of the Menzel River basin was updated and supplemented. All ponds, regardless of the type and design of their hydraulic structures, including those created for the first time on new or previously unaccounted for tributaries of the Menzel River, have been classified and entered into the Database with the coordinate reference of the terrain and the values of the water mirror areas.
