This article examines the current state and analysis of the dynamics of the public debt of the Russian Federation for the period from 2014 to 2017, which allows to investigate and identify the main trends in the dynamics of public debt for the period analyzed. As a result of the study, the main directions were proposed to reduce the growth of public debt in the country.
