The current state and prospects of the Russian grain industry

The article characterizes the current state of the grain industry and the grain market. It was revealed that, despite the internal difficulties, grain exports increased, which was facilitated by the expansion of the geography of supplies and increased purchases from new markets. The country has strengthened its position in a number of regions, becoming one of the leading wheat suppliers. However, the decline in export duty revenues has created tension in the public sector, reflecting the sector's vulnerability to external and internal challenges. Dependence on climate risks, limited diversification of crops, and the need to modernize infrastructure remain key challenges. To stabilize the industry, it is proposed to step up the introduction of climate-resistant technologies, expand the list of exported products and strengthen negotiation processes with key partners to open new markets. The success of these measures can ensure the sustainable development of the agricultural sector, reduce dependence on fluctuations in demand, and strengthen food security.
