Foreign experience of public control of research and development

The article substantiates the key role of the research activity of industrial companies in the scientific and technological development of the country. The current state of the participation of domestic companies in research and development in comparison with leading foreign countries is shown, the main problems hindering the research activity of companies are identified. The volume of investments in R&D of the business sector is analyzed. The structure of internal research and development costs by funding sources and countries is given. The foreign experience of state support of scientific and technological activities of industrial companies, the economic mechanisms used to stimulate companies to conduct research and development are considered. The measures taken by the Government of the Russian Federation in recent years to increase the research and innovation activity of enterprises in various sectors of the economy are considered. The necessity of further improvement of the system of state support and stimulation of scientific and technological development of industrial companies was noted, priority measures for the development of research and development in them were identified.
