Current State of Soils in the Pirsaatchay River Basin of Azerbaijan

The distribution of soil types in the Pirsaatchay River basin from its sources to its mouth is considered. Seven types of soils included in the river basin are identified. The diagnostic components of soil fertility are analyzed. A description of the soil profile of soil sections is presented. Analysis of the results of soils in the Pirsaatchay River basin over the past seventy years has shown that the soils have been dehumified (lost humus) by an average of 15%‒20%.
