Agriculture can not be imagined without crop production. Due to the optimal climatic conditions and a high concentration of arable land, in Russia it is possible to actively grow wheat, barley, buckwheat, rye, oats, corn, rice, potatoes, sugar beets, sunflowers, melons, aubergines and many other crops on an industrial scale. The branches of plant growing and animal husbandry in Russia, despite the northern location of the country, often experienced a crisis, but still did not belong to the number of backward. The main crop sector is concentrated in those regions of the country where the temperate continental climate is present. These belong to the southern regions (Ciscaucasia), the Central Volga region, Western Siberia, the Urals. In these regions, both technical and food crops are actively cultivated.
