Benign prostatic hyperplasia (prostate adenoma, BPH) is one of the most common diseases of elderly men. The incidence increases with age. If at autopsy at the age of 41-50 years, prostate adenoma is found in about 20% of cases, then at 51-60 years - already in 50%, and at 80 years and older - in 90%. RH symptoms requiring treatment occur in 60% of men over 50 years of age [2]. The results of epidemiological studies indicate a clear trend towards an aging population. Today, the average life expectancy of a man in Europe and North America is 72 years and continues to grow [4]. The growth dynamics is such that from 1980 to 2050. the population over 65 should double to 15% of the entire human population. As a result, an increase in the number of potential patients suffering from prostatic hyperplasia can be expected. In this regard, the diagnosis and treatment of BPH is not only a serious medical problem, but also a great social problem.
