Modern contractual structures in the professional activity of an athlete

The article considers the problems of modern contractual structures with the participation of athletes in their professional activity. It is proved that contracts in professional sports have their own distinctions. The system of these contracts consists of labor, civil and also hybrid contracts provisions. Analysis of Russian national legislation and individual contracts allows us to judge the availability and usage of atypical contractual structures in the studied area. Author proves that majority of these contractual structures’ provisions are not only the provisions of civil law contracts, but also corporate (local) acts of professional sports relations subjects (professional sports leagues and sports federations). Author concludes that it is necessary to use various contractual structures to regulate the athlete’s professional activities, which is currently an active economic activity.
