The object of this work is geodetic points. The spread of a unified coordinate system is one of the main tasks of geodesy. This task is implemented by creating state geodetic networks: combination of geodetic points which are fixed on the site by special centers and their coordinates are determined. Reference and survey networks are geodetic basis of large-scale fieldworks. It is important to know location of such points because overall planning and leveling works are carried out with reference to the coordinates for these points. The determination of the polygonometric points coordinates was carried out with geodetic receiver GRX-1, two GPS navigators and two mobile phones equipped with modern geolocation chips. The comparison of coordinates showed that there is difference between data gauged with the use of conventional and modern methods. The difference is from 0.07” to 0.49” latitude that complies afield to range from 1.05 m to 7.35 m; from 0.04” to 0.54” longitudinally that complies afield to range from 1.20 m to 16.20 m. The study established that known coordinates of the local (urban) geodetic network points require being clarified using modern geoposition methods. Moreover, further research is needed in this area.
