Resume: Pyelonephritis is a nonspecific inflammatory process in the kidney tissue and the calyceral system with a predominant lesion of tubulointerstitium - one of the most common infectious diseases in all age groups. Up to 1.3 million cases of acute pyelonephritis are registered in Russia every year [1]. Pyelonephritis, together with cystitis, asymptomatic bacteriuria, and infections of the male genital organs, combine to form UTI syndrome.
