The article deals with the main approaches to the interpretation of the "technological development" term. The authors offer their own interpretation of the concept of "technological development of enterprises". The current trends and the features of technological development of the timber industry enterprises are revealed and systematized. Consideration of the features and trends identified in the study allows creating a new approach to the strategic management of technological development of the timber enterprises in regions.
