This paper presents current mortality tendencies among the population in Jewish Autonomous region for the period of 1990-2015. As the analysis shows, the situation is unfavorable, including deaths of the preventable causes of disease (vascular system, neoplasms, and suicides). The sex-age structure of mortality is considered. It was determined that in 2014 the magnitude of sexual dimorphism mortality rate was as much as 1.5 times, and in 2010-2014, the main excess level of mortality was defined in 4 age groups (30-49 years); the increase in mortality rate with these groups was as much as 1.16-2.42 times. The author shows the territorial differences in the population death rate causes in JAR for the period of 2000-2015. To the author, the reason for high mortality rates lies in low living standards of the population, the unavailability of qualified medical aid, as well as in the fact that many people do not seek medical help.
