The contemporary methodology for energy and financial security region of mineral-raw cluster

The article analyzes current trends and the role of energy and energy security in the socio-economic development of the regions. There is a lack of unequivocal understanding among scientists and practitioners of the essence of energy security as an economic phenomenon, as well as the importance of fuel and energy complex and energy security for the country’s economy and Regions. The special role of the mineral and raw materials cluster regions in ensuring Russia’s energy security is substantiated. Among the main reasons stands out the weak modernization of the structure of the Russian economy, which preserves its importance as a commodity power in the world. An assessment of the level of energy security in the Kemerovo region as a typical region of the mineral and raw materials cluster with high energy consumption has been carried out. It has been established that Kuzbass is characterized by a high level of energy security.
