In this scientific article, the author attempts a comprehensive study of the modern Japanese experience of protecting the rights of victims who are violated in the process of criminal encroachments. The analysis shows that according to statistics, today Japan is one of the safest countries in the world, where crime has been declining for eighteen years. The conducted research is a convincing evidence that the victimological vector aimed at protecting the rights of victims of criminal attacks in the XX century was actively developed in many countries of the world, including Japan, and continues to be widely used in this country in the third millennium of the XXI century. In particular, they actively continue to develop not only theoretical problems of victimological prevention, but also through legal measures, primarily by the police, and actively apply practical aspects of the considered direction of crime prevention. In conclusion, it is concluded that the problems associated with the study of modern experience in the protection of victims of crime have not lost their relevance for many years, and the Japanese positive experience in the protection of victims of crime can be applied in domestic law enforcement practice.
