The modern stage in the practice of attribution of old Russian furniture

At the present stage, the study of the heritage of ancient Russian furniture requires a new approach. The main mistake in the attribution of artifacts was that the pieces of furniture were not considered as an object of art. Therefore, they did not correspond to the context of the development of styles in European culture. To correct the already established attributions, it is necessary to apply the method of description and analysis in order to "embed" the artifacts preserved in museums in the line of development of European styles, to confirm or refute the available dating.
