This article discusses the types of branding of territories that positively affect the image of the region. In the system of state administration of regions, the promotion of territories is important, a significant component of which is the creation of brands. Effective promotion of the territory not only contributes to the economic development of the country and regions, but also allows solving a number of significant social problems. The characteristics of the key components of the strategic positioning of territories are considered.
