Creation of geochemical barriers for environmental improvements under the development of placer deposits

In this paper experience of mechanical geochemical barrier using for purification of drainage waters forming under diamond mining in the Vishera River basin (Perm Region) is represented. For construction of the ground dam the dredge heap rocks in the river bed were used. The experimental work has shown that, depending upon the filtration path length, the concentration of suspended matter may be decreased from 630 mg/l to the MPC.
