Creation and development of fire-technical expertise in forensic science units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia

Introduction. The article, based on the memoirs of veterans of the forensic service and the analysis of published regulatory documents and literature, presents the historical aspects of the creation and development of the fire-technical direction in the forensic units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, and provides the main stages of development. The most significant results of forensic activities are presented.
