Creation of scientific and technical societies in Russia

The article reveals the process of formation and development of scientific and technical societies in the Russian Empire. The contribution of prominent scientists, patriotic individuals, government authorities, scientific and engineering circles, and the general public to the creation of relevant organizations is analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the establishment and activities of the Russian Technical Society. According to the authors, it has become the basis for the cohesion, interaction and coordination of Russia's scientific and technical potential both in the period under review and in the future.
