The article examines the history of the Novoiletsky district of the Orenburg Cossack troops in the first half of the 19 th century. The author emphasizes the main features of the Cossack and not-Cossack settlement of the area, traces the transfer of Krasnoufimsk Cossacks, Tatar tributaries, Ukrainians, state peasants, state carriers of salt and others categories of population to Novoiletskaya defensive line.
