Сreation of varieties and breeding material for shuttle breeding on the basis of genetic material of synthetic wheat

Nowadays, the composition of cultivated wheat varieties both in our country and abroad is characterized by low genetic diversity, which produces a threat to reducing their adaptability to biotic and abiotic stress factors. The program of shuttle breeding under the aegis of CIMMYT allows for an expansion in the genetic diversity of wheat varieties due to involving different source material into hybridization, including synthetic hexaploid wheat with the Ae. tauschii genome. The results of competitive variety trial in 2015-2017 in southern forest-steppe zone of Western Siberia of 7 shuttle breeding varieties with synthetic wheat in their pedigree are presented. Leaf and stem rust resistance genes Lr3, Lr10, Lr16, Lr17, Lr21, Lr26, Sr23, Sr31 , and Sr36 have been identified. The genotyping of variety with usage of KASP-markers associated with genes which control the glutenin and puroindoline proteins was carried out. Varieties that formed high average yield over the research years were identified as follows: Lutescens 24-12 (Kasibovskaya), Lutescens 27-12, Lutescens 70-13, and Lutescens 88-13 (Silantiy)...
