Rescue archaeological excavations of 2016 in inundation area of Lower Bureya hydro-electric power station (Amur region)

Department of Rescue Archaeology of Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography SB RAS investigated the Bukinsky Klyuch-1, Bukinsky Klyuch-3, Malye Simichi sites in inundation area of Lower Bureya HEP at the territory of the Bureya district of the Amur region. The excavation area of the Bukinsky Klyuch-1 site amounted to 408 m2. The excavation area of the Bukinsky Klyuch-3 site amounted to 323.2m2. The excavation area of the Malye Simichi site amounted to 215 m2. Presented complex offindings from this sites dates from the early Iron Age (Uril culture) and the early Middle Ages (Mikhailovo culture). The cultural attribution offindings from the Malye Simichi is Uril culture. The result of 2016 excavation campaign is the complete archaeological excavation of Bukinsky Klyuch-1, Bukinsky Klyuch-3, Malye Simichi sites.
