The floristic specificity of natural complexes with the lakes systems of the south-western part of the Valdai hills and the problem of biodiversity conservation

We conducted an integrated analysis of the different components of flora of the lakes systems, which are key elements of the natural complexes of the south-western part of the Valdai hills. Features of lake ecosystems and related forest and wetlands arrays determine the specificity of the flora of physico-geographical areas. We evaluated the current state of natural complexes, taking into account data on the occurrence of indicator species of biologically valuable forests and species listed in regional red books. We discussed the need for the organization of the floristic monitoring of ecosystems of the Valdai hills.
