The description of the modern polyethnic structure of the Krasnoyarsk region population is based on the analysis of the All-Union census (1989), the micro-census (1994) and the All-Russian census of the population results (2002). From 1989 to 2002 the total number of the ethnic communities in Krasnoyarsk region increased from 128 to 137. However by 2002 the percentage of non-russian population had reduced from 12,4 to 11,1 %. At present, migration is one of the factors of the ethnic structure changes in the region. The process of migrants adaptation to the conditions of the receiving community greatly influences the state of the inter-ethnic relations in the region.
