The features of Vasily Rozanov's political philosophy and the issues of its study

The article analyzes the current state of Russian studies devoted to the works of philosopher and publicist Vasily Rozanov, in particular in the aspect of sociopolitical issues. Over the past 30 years, Rozanov’s ideological heritage has become very popular among researchers from different fields - philosophers, sociologists, philologists, political scientists, etc. We can observe the existence of a separate field of research - Rozanov studies. The author identifies several stages in the development of this field in the late XXth - early XXIst centuries: the stage of the formation of Rozanov studies, the stage of the research “boom” and the stage of scientific reflection. The article points out the features of Rozanov’s socio-political views and the existing difficulties and limitations of their study. The author tries to reveal the possible reasons for the «popularity» of Rozanov as a political thinker among scholars and ordinary readers for a long period of time.
