Specific features of punctuation in complex sentences in the XX century (British scientific style)

The article is devoted to the investigation of a practical usage of comma in complex sentences in the British scientific texts of the XX century. The author tries to trace the evolution of the comma usage in the XX century and brings to light new tendencies typical of the British scientific texts at the end of the XX century.
