Specificity of grain production and its role in the economic of agriculture in Russia 20 years ago

The article notes the important role of grain production in the agricultural economy at the turn of the XX ... XXI century. The interrelation of the grain-product sub-complex of this period with other sectors of the national economy is indicated. The influence of the specifics of grain farming on the features of the formation of the entire agriculture and its development is considered. The irrational use of land resources in this time period and the insufficiently active introduction of scientific developments and modern technologies of grain production were noted, the reason for this was the lack of a sufficient amount of funds and the conservatism of the views of agricultural producers. The economic development of the industry was also not facilitated by transport costs, which increase the cost of production and complicate its marketing. Overcoming the problems that existed at that time became possible with the arrival of state support for agriculture in the industry, the use of innovative technologies and technical means during cultivation.
