The study results of neoplasm type and boundaries determination by differential backscattering were presented. The 34 skin neoplasms were excised and used as samples of research. The measurements were performed in wavelength range from 400-1200nm. The discriminant function analysis in program MathLab for determine of tumor types was conducted. The diagnostic criterion that determines the type and boundary of neoplasms was based on the optical coefficient, which included the following wavelengths: 560nm, 650nm, 700nm and 760nm.

Differential backscatter, discriminant analysis, skin neoplasm, noninvasive diagnostics, optical coefficient, melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma, nevus
