Sports as a humanistic basis of personality development: problems and prospects

The article considers sports in the context of its humanistic values. The undertaken research deals with problems and prospects of the sports development, and proves that the sports values reflect moral and material, personal and social aspects. The sports are examined as a basis for individual fulfillment and a way of personality self-development. The author discusses problems of popular and Olympic sports, and substantiates the sports as a major unifying force promoting integration and enhancement of the humanity.
